2012 brings a brand new look to the Bellino shakers. The box now has a fresh green look, showing the small red tomatoes to extra advantage. Also the shaker underwent a practical adjustment. The original spherical lid was changed into a flat lid allowing the shakers to be stacked.
Bellino is a santa tomato with an average fruit weight of 14 grs. The brix is about 8, which makes this tomato very useful as an in-between snack for children. Bellino has already been available in Speciality Street, the speciality line under hallmark Flandria. In total this segment is 33,000 m2 at two growers. 13,000 m2 of the variety Sweetelle at grower Hans van Gool and 20,000 m2 of the variety Santalina at grower Herman Adams.
The shaker 12 x 250 grs. in the new shaker box is the packing mostly used. There are, however, other possibilities: 12 x 250 grs. in a triangle, 12 x 150 grs. in a sweets packet, 4 kgs loose in a box, other possibilities as and when requested)
The Belgian season has started in the meantime as well. Not only for Bellino, but for all tomato specialities at Auction House Hoogstraten.
