The students are the growers

NL: Open day Horticultural Experience Centre

Last Saturday students of Lentiz, Holland, proudly and enthusiastically presented their vegetable units. Two units of 170 m2 are being cultivated by the students. The climate, water and lighting strategy are developed and executed by the students. The students are the growers. With 24/7 access to the climate computer the responsibility is also the student's. No 9 to 5 mentality in these glasshouses. The plants also grow during week-ends and need to be checked. The enthusiasm of the students and Lentiz makes for healthy plants and a good turn-out at the open day.

The Horticultural Experience Centre is a fantastic bridge between business and education. The mutual advantage leads to a very happy cooperation between
GreenQ, Crop Eye and the education institutes. A new project together with Melanchton Business School will be started shortly. With this project the main street in Bleiswijk will be made green. With a spring and autumn cultivation of pot plants and with the cooperation of the shop owners this also promises to be a very nice project.
