Spain: Citrus export season in the U.S. is finished

Fricasa Noatum Reefer Terminal Castellón has announced the end of the 2011/2012 citrus season in the United States. From Castellón's Port, around 50,000 pallets have been exported, representing around 90% of citrus exports to this country.

The predominant variety in this campaign has been the clemenules in a 2.3 kilo box. For this campaign 16 reefer ships, form the shipping company NYK of Lauritzen Cool and Seatrade NV, have been needed.

Fricasa's terminal has more than 12,000 square feet of temperature controlled facilities, 15 independent cameras, with a total capacity of 11,000 pallets and with the ability to operate up to three ships simultaneously.

According to Joaquín Ramón Lestau, Chief Executive Officer of Fricasa Noatum Reefer Terminal, "we appreciate the citrus exporters confidence, which we have again offered our port facilities; and it is for Marmedsa Noatum Maritime a great satisfaction to know that we are considered a benchmark sector as it has been proven in the last session of the 360 Quality Association, which brings together the major terminals and reefer operators by sea, on the occasion of Fruit Logistica".
