After negotiations at Fruit Logistica

Panama sends pineapples, bananas, melons, watermelons and papayas to Europe

Jose Pacheco, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of Panama, when referring to Panama's participation at Fruit Logistica said: "We met our expectations for Fruit Logistica 2012. We represented the country with 10 entrepreneurs of the fruit and vegetable export sector of Panama, which left Berlin very satisfied with all the business talks that were held there."
 
At the Panamanian booth businessmen approached, interested in buying Panamanian fruits and vegetables for Russia, Germany, Holland, Japan and other Asian and European countries. During the three day fair, negotiations were closed to start sending pineapples, bananas, melons, watermelons and papayas as of this week to the European market.

For Panama, the European market represents 60% of fruit and vegetable exports while the United States represents the remaining 40%. "It's important to always have a market diversification so that in this way producers can guarantee that they will sell their products in the future." Assures Panamanian Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade.
 
Although the fair is mainly fruits and vegetables, Panamanian companies closed deals to start sending coffee and cocoa to Hamburg (Germany).

"Fruit Logistica is a very important fair, in which Panamanian entrepreneur producers, can learn how horticultural product global trends are right now. It is also the perfect place to see new technologies and innovations both in packaging and machinery." Pacheco concludes when referring to the fair in Berlin.
