Rewe tests new market concept in Meerbusch

Fresh specialty market with unpacked fruits and vegetables

In Meerbusch-Büderich, near Dusseldorf, under the name "Marktliebe" Rewe has opened a fresh specialty market with a selection of around 4,000 items. At the heart of the 800 m2 market is the extensive fruit and vegetable department, which, according to Rewe, will captivate customers with attractive prices and a wide selection.

Apple, cucumbers and much more other articles will be offered largely unpacked, taking a stand against plastic waste. "Marktliebe" is a test concept through  which Rewe, together with regional partners and family businesses, will offers fresh and hand-crafted food in a market hall atmosphere. The opening of this branch will create 30 new jobs.
