The Austrian table potato market starts November with higher prices. In view of the weak harvest and the many sortings, many farmers stopped their sales. To boost supply on the one hand, and on the other hand, to take account of the internationally higher price levels, most of the purchasers' prices were raised significantly in the last week.
In Lower Austria, average goods are usually at 22 Euro/100 kg. For larger sizes or lots with above-average quality, prices varied from 18 to 22 € /100 kg. For small packaged premium goods with the AMA quality seal, prices of up to 24 € /100 kg can still be achieved.
Special sales
In Upper Austria, producer prices remained stable at € 22/100 kg, for the most part. Domestic sales to traders are manageable, as is often the case at this time of the year. Most parties are still well stocked with goods after the sales of the food retailers. Regarding exports, there is still considerable interest in Austrian goods.
