Daily export of dragon fruit to China averages 13 thousand tons

There has recently been a rumor in China that dragon fruit imports from Vietnam have been temporarily halted. The price suddenly dropped as a result. The agricultural industry in Vietnam made a joint statement with the Department for Agricultural Development in which they stated that the export of Vietnamese dragon fruit to China continues without interruption.

A representative of the department stated that the average daily volume of dragon fruit export from Vietnam to China is currently at 13 thousand tons.

The representative further stated that no dragon fruit has been refused at Cua Khau Tan Thanh in Long San Province, one of the major transport routes between Vietnam and China. Data from this port shows that on average around 100-140 trucks per day pass through customs there with dragon fruit on their way to the Chinese market.

It is worth mentioning that dragon fruit of reputable brands still sells without a problem and at high prices. The highest priced dragon fruit currently sells at 20 thousand Vietnamese Dong [0.86 USD] per kg.
