Ad Pollux, Regifresh:

“Greek kiwi fruit season getting into its stride”

After having sold Greek watermelons for his producers in the Peloponnesos for two seasons, Ad Pollux of Regifresh now has a ‘taste’ for Greek fruit. “In the past few months contacts have been made with various packing stations and producers, which resulted in cooperation contracts with packing stations.”

“We can load from roughly 15 different producers, who have their products sorted and packed by nine different packing stations with whom Regifresh has entered into cooperation agreements.” Regifresh sells kiwi fruit throughout Europe to retailers and importers by order of producers and packing stations.

“This year’s harvest is expected to be seven per cent smaller than last year. In general, the fruit is larger than last year. In the past few days, the Hayward harvest was started. First reports regarding quality and flavour (brix) are good,” Ad says.

With Regifresh Fruit and Vegetables Marketing, Ad Pollux is an intermediary for producers and retailers in Europe: acquisition, account management, order management and (for retailers) advice in category management. Ad has more than 30 years of experience in the (international) fruit and vegetable business.
