Sliced apple producer to launch multiple products

Crunch Pak®, a producer of sliced apples, will unveil multiple new products along with a refreshed package design in booth #1783 at the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit in Orlando.

One of the new products, a 12-ounce bag of sliced Honeycrisp apples, is part of the refreshed packaging design overall of the variety-specific line. In addition, the company said it is expanding its organic offerings to include multi-packs, several versions of 'Snackers and Dipperz', and peeled apples in stand-up bags which the company says were designed for easier shelf display.

“Consumer demand continues to grow for organic items and we can meet that demand,” said Megan Wade, product development and marketing manager.

Also on display in both #1783 will be a first look at a fresh cherry tray pack that Crunch Pak tested in West coast markets this summer. The package contains fresh cherries coupled with Ghirardelli chocolate in one version, almonds in another.

Finally, the company will leverage the exposure of PMA to launch a new line called Bitez. Bitez are protein snacks which include skin-on sliced apples paired with string cheese or Chedder cheese.

“The last 12 to 18 months we’ve focused on protein snacks in new product development,” Wade said. “Dipperz are a great snacking item but take two hands to eat; Bitez are grab and go.”
