Celebrating one year Freshplaza China

The best ten Chinese articles in the year of the Monkey

A lot has happened in the past year. Many events were joyful and living proof of an ever growing and blossoming produce industry. Some, however, were more worrisome. Fresh fruit imports into China have grown into unprecedented heights, and this trend is not expected to change course. Australian stone fruit and Polish apples celebrated received market access. Garlic prices have been unprecedentedly high. Zespri opened its new Beijing flagship store and Mission Produce signed a first ever deal to import and distribute avocadoes with its Chinese partners Lantao and Pagoda.

On the other hand, the Citrus Greening Disease keeps on damaging the domestic citrus industry, leaving huge destruction in its wake. Trump has been inaugurated as President. His presidential act in the first week was to step out of the TTP deal, leaving many to wonder America’s new place in global trade, and how this affects China’s trade position.

After months of careful preparation, Freshplaza launched it first Chinese newsletter on January the 4th. Since then we have been on top covering daily events in the fresh produce business, within and outside China. Our team has gotten to know bunch of vibrant, prominent and enterprising businesses, from growers to trader, suppliers, importers and exporters. We are thrilled to work with you all, and spread industry news throughout China and across the globe. Our international news is published daily in English, German, Italian, French and Dutch. Having added Mandarin to this offering, and being able to source content from China directly is a huge addition to our company and our readers.
