Dual exhibitons have again set record - more than 460 exhibitors

ExpoSE and expoDirect - 21 to 22 November 2018 at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Center

Over 460 exhibitors from 14 nations will present innovative products and services for asparagus and berry cultivation as well as outdoor vegetables and agricultural direct marketing from 21 to 22 November 2018 at the Karlsruhe Exhibition Center.

The 23rd expoSE, Europe's leading trade fair for the production of asparagus and berries, and the 8th expoDirekt, Germany's largest trade fair for direct agricultural marketing, will cover an area of more than 25,000 square meters. Thus, the Association of South German asparagus and strawberry grower (VSSE), organizer of these exhibitions, will set a new exhibitor record (2017: 454 exhibitors). Around 21 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad. With 54 companies, the Netherlands are represented most heavily, followed by France, Italy, Switzerland and Poland.

Some 58 exhibitors (as of 4.10.2018) will present themselves for the first time during the fairs. As early harvesting and protected cultivation are still an issue, foil tunnels are a topic at FS Europe from Norway, Geo Polska and Viale EE from Poland as well as LL Industrie from France.

Increasing temperature averages and an increasing drought in Europe are making it imperative to look at optimal water management. Irrigation systems are presented for the first time by Bevo, HÜCOBI, Ladotec and Waldis Swiss at expoSE. Digitization continues to play an important role at the fairs as well. It is used throughout the whole cultivation and marketing process. Among other things, apps will be presented to document fertilizer and crop protection measures as well as precipitation, soil moisture and air measurements, harvest reward apps, as well as scales and checkout systems. Farmtools, Localizer Digital GmbH and PCG Team are new in the digital sector.

Regarding agricultural direct marketing, there are new exhibitors with extended ranges, for example sporting specialties from the Amorella Kirsch manufactory, the Spelten herb factory or from the Presswerk oil manufactory. The Kioske and Strüwer companies are presenting their vending machines for the first time at expoDirekt.

"After this turbulent season, our trade fair duo is a must-attend event for the industry. Here, asparagus and berry producers will receive information on innovative solutions to make their production even more efficient. The exhibition will cover the entire spectrum of cultivation and direct agricultural marketing, from floor analysis to time recording. In the lectures, they will be able to acquire the latest knowledge in crop cultivation and receive new impulses for agricultural direct marketing," said Simon Schumacher, VSSE Board Spokesman.
