Metis®, the stonefruit brand, is rounding off a successful season with a burst of sampling activity in partnership with Costco Wholesale UK. It will be sampled in all of Costco’s 28 warehouses on 6th October, offering members the chance to try Metis® Sunset Sky. Sun-drenched summers give this late summer-ripening plum extra goodness with a soft, juicy bite and bold pink colour.
Metis® is a family of four fruits: Oxy Solar, Safari Star, Sunset Sky and Dark Moon, all available during different periods of the season, which runs from June to November.
Metis® is a unique plum-apricot blend, the product of natural cross-pollination by bees, using selected apricot pollen and plum blooms in the first stage. The resulting varieties are then expertly crossed with plum trees to produce Metis®. Metis® is firmer and more flavoursome than other stonefruits; as juicy as a plum but easier to eat, with its firmness making it more portable than its competitors.
