Kiwi grower looking to continue last year's PMA booth theme

Zespri captured the “Best of Show” PMA Island Booth award last year for generating enthusiasm with a lively staff, displaying eye-catching booth graphics and featuring its SunGold Kiwifruit. Zespri said it plans to keep the momentum going at this year’s Fresh Summit with discussions of retail opportunities, samples of kiwirita, the "blender bike" to mix up a SunGold super smoothie. Visitors will also have the chance to play a life-size game of Jenga or Connect Four and win prizes.

“This is our third year exhibiting at PMA,” explains Sarah Deaton, Zespri’s marketing manager for North America. “We want to keep the excitement and momentum going with our fun booth atmosphere and winning spirit captured during last year’s 5K race when Zespri received the Best Team Spirit award and our Best of Show exhibitor award. It represents us as a brand and ties into the consumer campaign by bringing the Zespri brand to life and driving traffic at retail. We are driving retailers to our booth and building customized programs exclusively for their business.”

The company's regional market development managers and international staff will be discussing SunGold Kiwifruit and 1-lb clam packs along with Zespri’s green and organic varieties. The will also be presenting its marketing programs. The company is also co-sponsoring the Welcoming Reception and 5K run.

“Our 1-lb clam pack has proven to be a leader in sales,” said Deaton. “Busy moms are looking for a convenient pack size and the 1-lb pack is ideal.” Overall, Golden Kiwifruit dollar sales trend outpaced total fruit by +116 points in the last 52-weeks ending 8/12/2018. The kiwifruit is available in a variety of packaging options including bags, loose bulk and displays.
