Weather conditions have been out of the ordinary this year, which made fruit production more difficult. The weather influenced both product quality and production volume. The cold weather between April 4 and 7 caused a decrease in fruit production volumes, and the fruit that did survive suffered all kinds of problems (small fruit, infected fruit, and irregular fruit); the dry weather in the last week of August and the first week of September, and the minimal difference in day and night temperatures hindered color development.
Early-season and mid-season apples in the Xianyang Market are already sold out, only late-season apples are still available. The price of apples is higher than it was last year and sales are smooth. There is even more room for price increases later in the season.
