The harvest of the Migo® pear has been completed and the growers are proud of the result of their work: a fantastic tasting pear, which had an abundance of sun and warm weather to give this friendly pear all the attributes: sweet and crunchy, juicy and full of flavor.
“We had an exceptional growing season this year”, comments Urs Luder, CEO of GKE NV, the Variety Manager of the Migo® branded pear. “The warm and sunny summer gave an optimal condition to grow this green pear with a smooth skin and certainly added an extra touch of flavour to the pear”. The good growing conditions this year allow the Migo® partners to start the sales season already begin October. There is enough volume of the friendly Migo® available to meet the rapidly increasing demand in the target markets. Sales will be supported by a comprehensive marketing support program with a sound mix of tastings, roadshows with the specifically designed Migo® Food Truck, social media and on-/ offline PR. In some of the countries, the successful cooperation with charity organizations such as the CliniClowns will be continued as last year, underlining the happiness and the smile which the Migo® pear brings to consumers of all ages.
The Migo® pear can now be found on the shelves of various retailers. Migo® is currently produced by growers of the three GKE partners: Fruitmasters (the Netherlands), Württembergische Obstgenossenschaft (marketing through Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft, Germany), and BelOrta (Belgium).
