Hnos. Fernandez Lopez SA announced that it had signed a framework agreement for the acquisition of 100% of the Sociedad Sevimpor Distribuidora Company of Frutas de Importacion, SL in January 2019.
As part of the company's expansion plan for the wholesale distribution of horticultural products in the Peninsula, Hnos. Fernandez, signed this acquisition agreement with Sevimpor, with the aim of strengthening its commercial presence in southern Spain.
Sevimpor, which is based in Mercasevilla, specializes in the maturation and commercialization of Platanos de Canarias. It has 2,000 m2 facilities with ripening, conservation, and preparation lines for bananas, as well as a presence in all sales channels.
In the words of Luis Fernandez, the CEO of Hnos. Fernandez: "This integration will allows us to grow with our main product, the Platano de Canarias. The Sevimpor Management Team, which has extensive experience in the sector, will continue to lead the Delegation to deploy the commercialization of Fernandez's entire range of products in southern Spain. From this point, we will also coordinate the re-expedition of all the fruit that enters through the ports of Algeciras and Seville towards the Group Delegations."
According to Juan Jose Tornero, the Manager and current owner of Sevimpor, "this operation culminates a long business relationship of great harmony between the two companies. I am convinced that this step represents a future union between the two teams.
