Van Dongen Transport Groep have taken over Soonius Transport

With effect from 21 June 2010 Van Dongen Transport have taken over all activities of Soonius Transport from Poeldijk. Soonius Transport is known as a strongly service oriented transport company with activities in the fruit and vegetables sector to Scandinavia and flower and plants to Greece. Van Dongen took over the Scandinavian activities and these will be continued under the name Soonius Transport.  The Greek activities will be passed on the Messrs.Van Es from Aalsmeer, who will be able to fit these transports immediately into their own activities to Greece.
Soonius Transport will continue its own activities independently under the Van Dongen banner from their offices in Poeldijk, where van Dongen will have the use of an X-dock and storage and transhipment facilities, with which they can extend their
service delivery to their existing customers within the group. The Netherlands are often viewed as a turning point for the transit of fruit and vegetables from southern countries, such as Spain, Italy and France to Scandinavia and is therefore a pleasant addition to existing activities. Furthermore Van Dongen have already for some time been looking for expansion in the fruit and vegetable sector in additioin to
flowers and plants and container transport, which is done under the name Peemand.
Soonius Transport have built up a very good name in the fruit and vegetable market. Consequently Van Dongen is happy that the family remains involved in the business. Together with the other Van Dongen establishments the group offers their customers a wide variety of logistic activities to a large number of countries within Europe. As a result of the take-over of Soonius the turnover of the Van Dongen Transport Group increases from 80 million to 92 million euro and the fleet will increase to about 325 units.
