"Spring onions, cherry tomatoes, pomegranates and chili peppers"
Holland: It's Egyptian season at Kohl Fruit Trading

The Egyptian season has begun again at Kohl Fruit Trading. The first containers of spring onions, cherry tomatoes and pomegranates have arrived and this week the first container of chili peppers will be sent. "If we turn over same volumes as last year we will be pleased", says Geoffry Kohl. "This year we are concentrating on fine-tuning the product by improving the quality and packaging."

"We have also been active in Israel since last year, where we would really like to get our feet under the table."

"Egypt is making big progress. Up until two seasons ago Egyptian produce was often a question of price. Now we have clients who value Egyptian produce above Moroccan this means it is now also a question of quality", says Geoffry. Last year, for the first time, we have imported serious volumes of citrus from Egypt. We have now seen how this was recieved by our clients and now we are following it up."

Kohl Fruit Trading have, in the last few years, developed into a reliable supplier of Egyptian products. "We have worked with 70% of our suppliers for at least six years, and so we have formed a good bond with them. More and more we are working directly with the producers. This means we can be more flexible."
