Workshop on crop management by PSB Producción Vegetal

"Having the latest varieties is not enough, you need to know how to cultivate them"

PSB Producción Vegetal, the firm run by the Buffat family, is inviting stone fruit producers to workshop sessions dealing with the management of nectarine, peach, Paraguayo peach and apricot crops, taking place on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the PSB facilities in Pliego, Murcia.

"The world is changing very quickly, especially in this sector, be it socially, economically or climatologically. For this reason, we believe that producers need good advice in all stages of cultivation, including the handling of rootstocks, nutrition, treatments, pruning or thinning, among many other aspects," explains Stephane Buffat, manager and hybridizer at PSB Producción Vegetal.

"Until now, we were known as hybridizers, breeders and stone fruit producers, and from now on we also want to offer an advisory service to producers to help them in the management of the costs of their crops. We believe that having the latest varieties is not enough, you need to know how to cultivate them. It's as if someone bought a good sports car, but didn't know how to drive it and how to get the most out of it," says the specialist.

The workshop will also serve to present the new varieties of the Red BUFFALO range of bicolor late apricots, which stand out for their flavor, juiciness and commercial caliber. In addition, two new varieties of late yellow-fleshed nectarines will also be presented.

Nelson, apricot of the RED BUFFALO range, harvested in early August.

Agostino, apricot of the RED BUFFALO range, harvested between August 20 and 25.
