Increased strawberry crops in Basilicata, drop in Verona and stable in Emilia-Romagna
After the excellent prices obtained over the past few months, strawberry crops are expected to increase in Basilicata. They should be more stable in Emilia-Romagna, while there seems to be a definite drop in Verona.

Gianluca Baruzzi from Crea - OFA Forlì reported that "talking with various technicians, operators and producers, I have an idea of how transplants are going. The authorization for chloropicrin has arrived in time in Basilicata, so the land was fumigated. Crops are increasing as producers were pleased with the gross saleable production."
Things went well in the north. "Investments dropped by 10-20% in Verona. The weather has caused a few problems and there were also health and gross saleable production problems, so producers were a bit discouraged."
Crops appear to be stable in Emilia-Romagna, with a few new entries in Imola and Faenza, "which could be a good signal. In Cesena, some encountered problems managing the replacement of chloropicrin - Vapam - as the authorization arrived late. Anyway everything is proceeding as normal and cultivated areas are stable."
