China: First batch of Shankou pomelos enters the market

The Haikou Chengmai County Shankou pomelo is a new variety grafted from Malaysian crystalline pomelo seedlings and local bitter pomelo varieties.

The Haikou Youxiang Agricultural Ecological Development Co., Ltd. and the Island Professional Cooperative jointly planted Shankou pomelos (seedless crystal honey variety). After many years of ecological improvement and cultivation, it has now successfully entered the market. The first batch of 1000 boxes of fruit was sent to Shenzhen, which has presented the fruit brand in the Qiongbei market.

As only about 500 acres of this species is currently on the market in the province, it is very different from other pomelos. Despite its excellent taste, many areas, such as Haikou, did not have an opportunity to taste this fruit. Due to the quality and brand recognition, there are many online and offline orders and they all flow to the high-end customers in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. This year, Shankou Gongyu is priced at (2 per box) one hundred yuan. The goal is to let more mid-end customers also taste this fruit.
