Cooperative makes a stand against food waste

Landgard's 'IssSo' campaign wins Green Product Award

Landgard's so-called 'IssSo' campaign has been awarded the Green Product Audience Award. Through this proprietary brand, discarded fruit is offered in regional supermarkets. "This way, the economic damage for the producers was halted. It also was taking a stand against food waste in Germany,'' stated the jury of experts.



Inner quality
The campaign was launched after the severe hail damage during last year's pome fruit season. The aim was to offer optically damaged fruits that were no longer marketable according to current commercial criteria, but whose internal quality was very much all right.
