Grofondet supports development of Norwegian fruit and vegetables

Grofondet was established in Norway in January 2017 by Gartnerhallen SA, BAMA Eiendom AS, and NorgesGruppen ASA. Over the next ten year, the fund will make EUR10 million available annually. This is to be used for the development of Norwegian fruit and vegetables. The fund has supported 20 Norwegian projects since its inception.

These projects include the cultivation of sweet potatoes in the Norwegian county of Vestfold and a collaborative project of beekeepers and fruit growers in the town of Sogndal. Other projects that have benefited from this fund were aimed at preventing diseases among iceberg lettuce, plastic-free packaging for tomatoes, and the promotion of strawberries from the northern parts of Norway.
