New Zealand becomes Colombia's strategic ally in agricultural sector

New Zealand's growing agricultural economy, one of the most competitive and efficient in the world, has turned it into a perfect ally for Colombia. As a result, four companies of the oceanic country have participated in the Expo Agrofuturo exhibition in order to showcase their innovations, solutions and methodology and help Colombian producers improve their situation.

Andrés Moncada stated that "Expo Agrofuturo 2018 took place in Bogotá from 22 to 24 August. It has been the ideal setting to showcase the best and new technological advances created in New Zealand, which will help optimise the productivity and economy of Colombian agriculture."

New Zealand-based companies export innovations that help increase the productivity of the entire production chain, from the field to the supermarket. Their experience and best practices result in strategic partnerships with small, medium and large producers around the world, also in Colombia.

The Ambassador of New Zealand in Colombia, Lucy Duncan, said that "Colombia has a strategic importance for our country, as evidenced by the recent opening of our embassy in Bogota. The technologies that New Zealand has developed have great potential to improve the competitiveness of Colombian agricultural producers, and the four New Zealand-based companies present in this edition of Expo Agrofuturo are an excellent example of this. Our goal is for our countries to work as strategic partners and not as competitors in the market."

Two of the companies present at Expo Agrofuturo are Compac, world leader in fruit sorting solutions, and Wellington Drive, one of the world's leading providers of electronic solutions for the commercial refrigeration industry. Leaders in the meat and dairy sector, such as Gallagher and CRV Ambreed, have also attended.

New Zealand-based companies export innovations that help increase the productivity of the entire production chain, from the field to the supermarket. Their experience and best practices result in strategic partnerships with small, medium and large producers from around the world, including in Colombia. Over the years, New Zealand companies have developed solutions and methodologies that are easily adaptable to different realities. This could help Colombian producers wishing to add value to their products and further improve the profitability of their activities.
