Nearly 20 years ago, the Van Zuilen and Maes families decided to work together. The Van Zuilen family then decided to organise their own sales, instead of working via the traditional fruit auction. With Belgian importer Special Fruit NV, Berrybrothers BV was founded, and the company managed to conquer a good spot on the European berry market in the last decade.
Yesterday, both companies found themselves at a crossroads, where they decided they would each go their separate way. The Van Zuilen family took over all of the shares from the Maes family, and they will continue with the activities of Berrybrothers. Both companies, and the families in particular, experienced the cooperation as pleasant and informative. The mutual commercial relationship, however, will continue.
