Taiwanese investors are interested in Honduran avocados

Cesar Vigil, the Secretary General of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG), and Tony Hou, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Taiwan, discussed the requirements that Taiwanese companies wishing to invest in Honduras must meet, as part of the bilateral trade relationship, in the area of agriculture, between Honduras and China-Taiwan.

In Honduras, there are currently several projects being carried out in the agricultural sector with Taiwanese cooperation, such as the cultivation of tilapia in the Gulf of Fonseca and the potato and avocado seed projects being carried out in the department of La Esperanza, Intibuca.

In this context, and thanks to the impetus that is being given to the cultivation and production of avocado through the National Plan, which was recently launched and aims at exporting to Taiwan, investors and officials are discussing the regulatory provisions so that Taiwanese investors can operate in Honduran territory and can import Honduran avocados to their country.
