Asparagus Platform presents autonomous harvesting machine

A lack of seasonal workers has resulted in various companies working on the development of an asparagus harvesting machine. During the Asparagus Platform on 31 August in Venlo, the Netherlands, AvL Motion will demonstrate how their first autonomous asparagus harvesting machine works. “It’s quick, versatile and reliable. The autonomous, selective harvester of AvL meets all requirements of current methods. It’s a machine that can be used in existing fields, whether large or small. It can easily be moved and is reliable,” according to the announcement.

“The harvesting machine has been extensively tested this year, and it has proven its principle. Quality and quantity are as they should be, so that AvL Motion now has an interesting solution for the asparagus harvest.” During the Asparagus Platform, visitors can receive extensive information about the machine and how it operates.

The Asparagus Platform focuses on new knowledge. AvL Motion’s harvesting machine is one example of this. The Asparagus Platform is freely open to everyone, and takes place at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo from 1 PM to 6 PM on 31 August. For more information and signing up: www.compas-agro.nl
