Song Ma District in Son La Province, Vietnam, has exported longan to China for the first time. The shipment weighed 40 tons. The surface area devoted to longan production in Song Ma District is close to 6100 hectares. Nearly 4223 hectares are already harvested. The overall production volume exceeds 40 thousand tons. Song Ma District has 9 VietGAP-certified longan plantation cooperations who own a combined 166 hectares of longan plantations with an annual production volume of around 930 tons.
