25-27 November, Kortrijk Xpo

Interpom Primeurs 2018 sold out

The 19th edition of Interpom Primeurs will be held from Sunday, 25 to Tuesday, 27 November 2018 in Kortrijk Xpo (Belgium).

Interpom Primeurs is a European indoor trade fair for the entire potato and vegetable sector which represented the whole chain: from cultivation to processing and marketing. The trade show has again registered growth figures. Now, months before the event, the fair with its 315 exhibitors is completely sold out already. Interpom Primeurs is known for being the largest international indoor potato fair in the world. It is the ultimate platform for the latest marketing evolutions, price developments, and future innovations. No fewer than 20.000 people are expected to visit the upcoming edition. It is being considered as the kick-off of the worldwide 'Can you imagine a world without potatoes' campaign.

Stand area fully rented out
The latest Interpom Primeurs edition is characterised by rapid growth figures and strong internalisation. This year every square metre of the Kortrijk Xpo exhibition complex is again being utilised. The fair has been entirely rented out months before it is to take place, even with another 500m² more space than the previous edition. Interpom Primeurs will present a particularly complete, specialised range of products, machines, and services for the entire chain. This chain ranges from farmers and contract workers to processors and packers. It also includes buyers and traders of fresh and processed potatoes and vegetables from the whole of Europe, and increasingly from other continents. The previous edition clocked up 19.938 visitors (+2%) from 49 countries. It received a recommendation score of no less than 8,5/10. Organisers expect to exceed these numbers this year again.

Interactive walk-in seminars on the 'Innovation & the future of the potato' Innovation Square
There will be exhibitions and numerous network possibilities. Besides this, Interpom Primeurs will also offer an exciting 'walk-in seminar' programme on the innovation square in Hall 6. Here, domestic and overseas speakers will share their knowledge, experience, and vision. These will be done in short, 20-minute interactive sessions related to themes about innovation in the potato chain. The innovation square offers a look at the future of the sector. It is free for visitors to the trade fair. The organisers aim to use this to inform the whole chain. They also want to further professionalise and encourage the sector to work together toward an innovative, sustainable future. So, among other things, the new Potato Branch Organisation will be officially presented. The Flemish Ministers of Agriculture, Joke Schauvliege and René Collin will be present. The full programme, including the speakers, will be announced at the end of September.

Can you imagine a World without potatoes?
The CIP (International Potato Center) will launch their 'Can you imagine a world without potatoes' campaign at Interpom Primeurs. This is an international campaign aimed at strengthening global awareness to the importance of the potato to humankind. 'Can you imagine a world without potatoes'? This question should make millions of consumers think about the potato as a food source. They will be made aware of the extensive biodiversity of potatoes. They can play a significant, positive role in the challenges of the future. These challenges include climate change, food security, and development.

Online visitors registration and ticket sales have started
Just like last year, visitors can register on the trade show's website to buy their entrance tickets. Those who have free or guest tickets must also register using a code that can be found on their ticket. Only after registration (and payment, if needed), visitors will receive a barcoded e-ticket. This is the only document that can be used for admission and will be scanned at the entrance of the fair. These tickets are already available to buy on www.interpom-primeurs.be.
