An Italian baby leaf producer reported no particular anomalies in Italy in terms of demand for their products. The company is specialized, in particular, in rocket cultivation. Consumption has been increasing for the past two-three years and a factor that must be considered is the change in consumer habits. At the end of April 2018 the demand for rocket was extraordinarily high.
"Now the demand for baby leaves is in line with the last summer season. The demand has changed for sure in the last 10 years and it is in a period of steady, measured growth. As for climate change, we grow in greenhouses and we haven't recorded any particular problems, in spite of the recent heavy rains."
The rocket demand, at the moment, is showing a slight increase. "But there are no uncommon requests in this period from any of the different countries with whom we work."
