BEHR AG is committed to healthy nutrition and exercise

BEHR AG, with its production facilities, BEHR Vegetable Gardens, Vegetable Garden Büttelborn and BioBehr, is this year again committed to the topic of healthy nutrition and exercise for preschool children this year.

Diet and exercise are two very important cornerstones for a healthy lifestyle and can not be addressed early enough and, above all, lived enough. Often the parents at home try "everything" to bring these weighty topics to their children from the very beginning. Frustrated, they often find their children believes their peers and the media more than their parents.

The picture shows Class 1c of primary school Maschen with the AKNM educational teacher Daniela Freese. The children proudly show "a handful", the newly learned symbol that you should eat fruits and vegetables 5 times a day.

This is exactly where the concept of the early-morning support workshop "healthy food, reinforced with new media of AKNM wants to offer support.

AKNM stands for Arbeitskreis Neue Medien. This is a nationwide educational initiative started by teachers and principals 18 years ago. It has since been extended to include educators and specialist speakers. The AKNM offers media-based early-education workshops for preschool and primary school children on various topics, including healthy eating and exercise.

In order to enable children to participate free of charge, the AKNM cooperates with educational sponsors. For instance, through financial support of the BEHR AG, 50 groups of up to 21 children can enjoy these health workshop. The children see, hear and experience what healthy eating means within their group in an age-appropriate, lively and vivid way. They get to understand that in combination with sufficient exercise, it will immediately lead to better well-being.

"The workshops are a successful mix of child-friendly information on the subject of healthy nutrition and the relaxation of simple dances. The feedback forms, filled in by the parents, show time and again that the children take home a whole lot of basic knowledge and above all, that the workshop arouses sustained enthusiasm for the topic of healthy nutrition and exercise in children," says Daniela Freese.
