Modern cooling system protects delicate fruits and veg

Over the last 10 years, more and more companies in the fresh fruit and vegetable industry are finding themselves in a situation where they would like to modernise their business and cooling systems are an important part of the post harvest system.

Based in Central Macedonia in Greece, Inokat was founded in 1988 and has been very active in the last few years at international events like Fruit Logistica in Berlin and Freskon in Thessaloniki in Greece, to introduce their products to producers all over the world.

"Our hydrocooler, which uses cold water to maintain the quality of fresh fruit and vegetables, is perfect for all types of fruits and vegetables, but also specialises in sensitive products including cherries, asparagus and fresh greens. Fresh fruit and veg can lose moisture and deteriorate in quality when exposed to high temperatures, causing dehydration, wrinkling, browning of the strain, weight loss and damage to the general appearance of the fruit. This problem can be effectively eliminated by direct precooling & hydrocooling, technology which is utilised in our special hydrocooler," explains Antonis Koltsakis from Inokat.

The hydrocooler comes in two models, the static/cabin and the flow tunnel. The capacity is customised to the customer's requirements and correct and safe operation is guaranteed with all of the machinery the company provides.
