The president of the Association of Producers of Blueberries of Argentina's Mesopotamia (APAMA), Alejandro Pannunzio, together with the producers Gabriel Wasermann and Adolfo Storni, met with the governor of Entre Rios, Gustavo Bordet, within the framework of the delegation's participation in the Fruit Logistica Fair, which was held in the city of Berlin, Germany.
Pannunzio gave the governor an updated overview of the sector's situation and together they outlined some strategies to improve the production conditions of the area.
"We mainly addressed the electricity rates issue because our situation is similar to that of the rice producers. Our production is seasonal and well concentrated for three months," said Pannunzio. They also discussed issues related to labor and health, tax, and support credits for the sector to gain competitiveness.
"It was a great opportunity to work together on how to boost our production, taking advantage of the region's enormous strengths and maintaining our position as the producers of the richest blueberries in the Southern Hemisphere, taking into account the outstanding and unparalleled quality of the soils and waters of the Concordia area," the producer stated.
The deputy governor, Adan Bahl, the secretary of Production of the province, Alvaro Gabas, and the mayor of Concordia, Enrique Cresto, also attended the meeting.-
