"Sweet Israeli oranges popular in China"

"In the past few years, we have only sold Israeli oranges after purchasing them from our Chinese partners. This year, we will import grapefruits and tangerines directly from Israel for the first time. We have found that Israeli grapefruits taste delicious, but that their green skin does not look so appealing to Chinese consumers. Their sweetness and nice taste, on the other hand, make them very popular on the Chinese market," according to a representative of Zhengzhou Chen's Sun Fruit and Vegetable Trade Co., Ltd.

Israeli oranges

"Israel has a Mediterranean climate, which means that it can even grow fruit in winter. This is very beneficial for export. However, it is still difficult to export oranges from Israel to China for several reasons. Firstly, the country is very narrow, so the production area and fruit production are limited. Secondly, the quarantine protocols from China for Israeli oranges set very high requirements for these products, from production to packaging and transportation. Furthermore, it now takes 30-35 days to transport Israeli oranges to China by sea, as they have to be transferred at another port. These factors all increase the trading costs for Chinese importers."

"Zhengzhou Chen's Sun Fruit and Vegetable Trade Co., Ltd. already has over 20 years of import and export experience. We have long term partnerships with suppliers and sellers all over the world. Our imported oranges are mostly sold through traditional sales channels to distributors and large-scale supermarkets in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Zhengzhou. Furthermore, we are also cooperating with e-commerce platforms, providing them with the necessary fruit and packaging."
