UK : Waitrose sells French apricots

Apricots from the Languedoc-Roussillon will be available in British Waitrose stores between the 22nd July and the 19th August. The high end supermarket will offer these apricots that have “ripened on the tree” at 175 sales points, mainly in England. The contract was obtained by Sud de France Development (a structure created by the Languedoc-Roussillon region). 5,000 tons are produced annually by 200 producers with total apricot production (including other varieties) reaching 12,000 tons in the Pyrenées-Orientales.
