New solution to reduce strawberry waste saving fruits from being dumped

QLD juice company is waging the war on waste to help stop tonnes of strawberries being dumped. Michelle Caterson from QLD cold-pressed juice company Juzcit has partnered with Mandy Shultz, founder of LuvaBerry Strawberry farm to end the War on Waste.

To give fruit regarded as seconds a new purpose, by using them in cold-pressed juicing facilities such as Juzcit has allowed the strawberries new life.

“There’s nothing wrong with the fruit, we’ve taken the green calyces off to make it easier for people to put directly into their smoothies,” Mandy, founder of Luvaberry says.

Michelle from Juzcit has a goal to work toward future prosperity by incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals to the core of her business. Juzcit maintains transparency to customers by producing products that are not damaging to the environment and sourcing through the safest supply.

QLD supplies Australia with the bulk of its strawberries over winter, however over the years the losses have cost farmers millions of dollars.
