Mexico: Apatzingan to send its bananas to the Netherlands

Banana producers from the Valley of Apatzingan are planning to exports their products to the Netherlands and are working so that this sector is legally constituted, said Yolanda Cisneros Sosa, the leader of the Association of Banana producers of the Valley of Apatzingan.

She also said that the quality of the bananas produced in the Apatzingan region, which has a long shelf life, was unbeatable, and that it had allowed them to establish negotiations to export to Europe, specifically to the Netherlands.

To achieve the first shipments to that country, the legalization of this Association will be expedited. This will give them the possibility of exporting the product, which is already demanded in Europe, and allow them to access greater support to implement and strengthen good practices in their orchards to continue improving the quality of their product. It will also allow them to fight pests and diseases by using the minimum amount of agrochemicals, as this sector is betting on the production of organic fruit, which has more demand and a greater commercial value in the markets.
