Over 90% of Vietnamese lychee exports go to China
According to the latest statistics of the General Administration of Customs of Vietnam, during the lychee supply season in 2018, Vietnamese enterprises exported more than 92,000 tons of fresh and dried lychees with a value of more than 40.8 million US dollars, an increase of 172% over the previous year and a value increase of 126%. Fresh lychee exports were 75,000 tons, accounting for 81.5% of the total, while dried lychees exceeded 17,000 tons. In 2018, Vietnam's lychee was exported to 27 countries and regions around the world, and last year it was 19 countries and regions.
It is worth noting that the exports of lychees to China exceeds 83,500 tons, with a value of more than 33.9 million US dollars, an increase of 151% over 2017 and a value increase of 91%. Fruits exported to the Chinese market accounted for 90.7% of the total export of lychees.
