In July, the market transaction volume decreased by 2.9% year-on-year, and the turnover increased by 24% year-on-year; from January to July, the monthly market transaction volume increased by 12.6% year-on-year, and the turnover increased by 19.5%.
The average price of fruit continues to grow. The reason is that, on the one hand, the improvement of planting technology has improved the quality of the fruit; on the other hand, due to the influence of rainy weather on watermelon production areas this year, there were less good quality melons on the market, which pushed up prices.
Although the overall sales volume of the market showed a slight decline, the sales volume of oranges and lychees increased significantly year-on-year, rising by 124.5% and 70.5% respectively. The trading volume of oranges has risen sharply because of the expansion of citrus planting area in the country, especially the late-ripening citrus, namely the summer orange, the Lunwan orange and the Wogan citrus. This directly increased the sales volume of citrus oranges on the market. In addition, Lizhi's sales season has been extended this year, and the market information is also delayed compared with previous years.
