China: Wild macaques enjoy frozen fruit in heatwave

The 9th of August was the third day of a heatwave in Henan. The temperature reached 37 degrees Celsius. The weather institute announced code yellow, a warning for extremely high temperatures. Employees of the Taihang Mountain National Macaque Nature Preserve in Henan used tomatoes, ice cubes, watermelons, Hami muskmelons, grapes, and apples to provide the wild macaques with a nutritional frozen fruit treat that helped them cool down during the extreme heat.
