China: Guangxi dragon fruit suffers after continuous rainfall

Pingguo County in Baise, Guangxi, has had as many as 23 days with rainfall between July 1st and August 5th. The period between July 24th and August 5th was particularly bad with 13 rainy days. The continuous rainfall increased humidity, which badly influenced the regional dragon fruit industry.

Dragon fruit orchards in several towns in Pingguo County saw their dragon fruit cracked, rotten, or turning yellow. The continuous rainfall will certainly influence both the production volume and the product quality of Guangxi dragon fruit, and will also reduce the income of dragon fruit orchard owners in the area.
