In the Hebei region, the main production area of fresh pears in China, a new batch of fresh pears went on the market at the beginning of July, while the older batch hadn't yet sold out.

Many buyers hope to seize this year's opportunity to cut production and start a price battle while actively purchasing. This led to the purchase price of Crown Pears rising in the short term, while the purchase price of some orchards has exceeded 1.5 yuan per jin, and shows a continuous rising trend. This has created a good sales situation for fruit farmers on the one hand, and on the other hand, it has brought certain pressures to bear on domestic and foreign merchants.
"According to my observation and understanding, this year's Hebei Crown Pear production has fallen about 10%-20%. I think, even so, the impact of this production cut on the market is very limited, because the total production is still in surplus relative to market demand. In addition, the frosty climate in April did not only affect the output, but also caused the shape and color of some fruits to be off. This will also have a certain impact on the price of fresh pears," according to relevant personnel from Botou Yafeng Fruit Co., Ltd.
"The new round of the picking season has just begun, and the purchase price of Crown Pears has remained high. Some overseas merchants have expressed their reluctance in accepting such high prices. It is hard to predict the subsequent price changes. However according to my estimation, the price may fall back later."
