Staay Food reports ID fraud

The Staay Food Group has warned colleagues in the sector against ID fraud:

"Recently, a few people in Greece pretended to be Staay Food Group employees. This concerns a group of four people who approached a Greek business about a possible collaboration. Two of these people presented themselves as Rik Zeelenberg and Johnny Schipper, who both work at our Staay Export B.V. branch.

They presented business cards which showed:
  • the name, 'Staay Import' which is not known to us;
  • the address that is not quite right;
  • false e-mail addresses; and
  • the illegal use of our logo.
These two people speak fluent Dutch and are very well informed about the fresh fruit and vegetable sector. It is not known whether these two people are, in fact, Dutch.

With regards to the two other people - one seems to be Romanian, a Daniel Pop, and there is not much known about the other person. These people also presented the portfolio of a Romanian company which show alleged insured amounts of credit insurers.

We are asking everyone in the sector to be alert to this and to report the possible abuse of our company and personnel details to us."
