China: Panzhihua supplies mangoes directly to Vancouver supermarkets

A shipment of freshly harvested Panzhihua mangoes passed the strict requirements of Panzhihua Customs and boarded flight 3U8501. Less than 48 hours later the mangoes arrived on the shelves of supermarkets in Vancouver.

Panzhihua previously exported to Russia and Hong Kong, and has now expanded its retail activity to Vancouver. This shipment also marked the first direct supply of Panzhihua mangoes to Vancouver this year.

The mangoes from Panzhihua mainly enter the market in bulk between August and November because the area does not have a winter season. The supply season is 2-5 months later than supply from mango production areas in Southeast Asia and elsewhere, which reduces competition for Panzhihua mangoes.
