Hi-tech coring, halving, and quartering of bell peppers
The modern food processing industry is placing increasingly higher demands on machinery. Ease of use must go hand in hand with safety, controllability, and precision. "Continued development has led to the HiTec PDS (Pepper Decoring System). This is the perfect machine for the coring, halving, and quartering of bell peppers", says Jeroen Lijkendijk, Project Manager at Synergy Systems. Synergy Systems is a Dutch company that specialises in developing food processing machines and technology.
Bell peppers are placed on the pocket belt by hand. They are then transported to the coring/quartering section. Four intake units can be filled simultaneously at each step. During the coring and cutting process, the bell peppers remain perfectly correctly orientated thanks to special pockets. The product is moved along step by step (stationary, moving, stationary, etc.). This ensures that the command to process the product is simple and controllable.
The processed bell peppers are moved further along in pockets. They are either offloaded into a collection bin at the belt's turning point or directing onto a conveyor belt. The processing waste/cores are transported directly to a waste flume or bin. This is done by means of a conveyor belt found under the machine.
Jeroen lists this piece of machinery's top specifications:
The cutting attachments are very easy to swap out and have a long service life
EHEDGE Design, CE (Easy cleaning and disinfecting)
RVS AISA 304 / HDPE Robust, reliable construction
Easy, user-friendly operation
Electronic transport belt with pneumatic cutting section
Delivers a perfectly cored, quartered product
