Oranges, mangoes, and other fruits have largest production volume in China

China: Abundant harvest for Guangxi fruits

Guangxi produces a rich variety of traditional fruits such as bananas, lychees, and longans, as well as relatively new varieties such as oranges, passion fruits, and dragon fruits. Data shows that Guangxi had a surface area of 1.3 million hectares devoted to fruit production in 2017. Their annual production volume reached 17 million tons. In terms of surface area devoted to fruit production Guangxi is the number two in China, and number three in terms of overall production volumes. For specific fruits, such as oranges, mangoes, dragon fruits, persimmons, and passion fruits, Guangxi is the number one in China. It is estimated that the overall production volume of fruit in Guangxi will reach 18 million tons in 2018.
