Elite Agro to grow 500 ha of blueberries on plantation in Serbia

Elite Agro (EAG) is a leading producer and distributor of fresh vegetables and fruit in the UAE, based in Abu Dhabi. The company processes berries for farms on a large scale: blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries in Morocco and Serbia & Mauritania. Memorandums of understanding signed with Mountain Blue Orchardsm (Australia) and Driscoll’s will create a new opportunities to Elite Agro to grow berries all the year round and to supply their clients in UAE & GCC markets. Within next 2 years company plans to grow around 500 ha of blueberry in Serbia and has also potential growth plans in Mauritania. In 2019 Elite Agro starts commercial production blueberry in UAE.
 
Berries aside, the company is one of the largest growers of potatoes in UAE and also grows pesticide free vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplants, cucumbers & figs in state of the art greenhouses. In the near future the company plans to grow stone fruits, persimmons and pomegranates in Morocco, as well as introduce new products such as melons; cantaloupes, honeydew, sweet melon pineapples & seedless water melon along with lettuces and herbs.
 
Fast development of the company and high quality standards (BRC Food, Global GAP, ISO 20000, Sedex. F2F & nature) will assure opening a new target market in the next 5 years, like EU, UK, GCC, USA Western Africa and/or Asia.
