"China: "Red Globe export price begins to stabilize"

"The new grape export season began in the mid- to late June and is expected to last until January next year. Many Chinese vineyards enjoyed an abundant harvest, as did many other fruit production areas in China this year. The increased production volume immediately put pressure on the export price." This is according to Hebe of Jining Greenstream Fruits & Vegetables Co., Ltd.

"The current export market receives significant influence from overseas pre-orders. The export price dropped early in the season but has already begun to stabilize. The export price is somewhat lower than it was in the same period last year. We purchase Red Globes, Black Globes, and Green Globes from Yunnan and Xinjiang. We export them through Shenzhen Port to Indonesia, Malaysia, India, and Sri Lanka."

"As for export, Red Globe grapes have the largest export volume compared to other grape varieties. The reason for this situation is that Red Globe grapes are relatively stable in cultivation and ripening. Another aspect that we must take into consideration is the period in which we can maintain the freshness of Red Globe grapes. Ships to Southeast Asia generally take 7-15 days, and if transport takes much longer then the Red Globe grapes will turn soft and rot."
