According to the Big Data from the China Business Research Institute, the import volume of Chinese bananas (including plantains) in May 2018 was 172,429 tons, which was a year-on-year increase of 73.8%. Imports of Chinese bananas (including plantains) from January to May 2018 were 590,000 tons, an increase of 42.6% compared with the same period last year.
In May 2018, the import value of Chinese bananas (including plantains) was US$99.20 million, a year-on-year increase of 61.4%. From January to May, the import value of Chinese bananas (including plantains) reached 352.1 million US dollars, an increase of 49.4%.
