Coregeo chief of marketing takes on global marketing role

Coregeo Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Evans has been appointed Head of Group Marketing by Pink Lady brand owners Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL).

Michelle will continue in her UK marketing role for all Coregeo fresh produce brands, including Pink Lady, Tenderstem, Bimi and Metis, while also taking the global marketing lead for APAL. APAL has growing global commercial interests that require significant marketing experience and expertise; these include Pink Lady, but extend to a number of other branded apples and pears.

APAL has made the appointment as part of an organisational restructuring as it looks to expand its capability and capacity, extend its reach into key international markets, share best practice globally and support its partners’ commercial ambitions.

Michelle joined Coregeo in 2011 from Horticulture Australia and, with her team, has masterminded the strategic marketing, communications and brand development services for the company’s fresh produce brands in the UK.

Michelle said: “I have loved developing the brands in the UK further using real consumer insight to drive sales and increase brand awareness and bringing brands alive with fun and ground-breaking campaigns. The marketing developed by the group around the globe is fantastic, and I am really excited about using my experience and expertise to develop our brands even further.”

Coregeo will now look to gradually build its team in the UK to take on more responsibility for the brands in its stable as Michelle’s global role develops.

Michelle will report to APAL’s Director of Global Development, Andrew Hooke, on global group marketing issues and to Andy Macdonald, Managing Director of Coregeo, for the UK Pink Lady brand, as well as all other Coregeo brand responsibilities.
